The 11th edition of Sofia MENAR Film Festival came to its end. From the 15th to the 31st of January, 17 feature films, 5 documentaries and 5 short films were screened at the Cinema House, Euro Cinema, the G8 Cultural Center and the Czech Cultural Center.
The new Iranian cinema was on focus, represented by 7 films in total. The films of the "Kervan Sarai" program once again provoked the audience's interest by leading them to strange and difficult-to-reach places on Earth.
The Sofia MENAR Film Festival is the largest of its kind cultural event for the Balkans. It is organized by the Association "Pozor" in order to make the Bulgarian public familiar with the culture and traditions of the Islamic world. In partnership with the embassies of the respective countries and several cultural institutes, the festival presents the best of feature, documentary and short films of the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa.
