The 6^th edition of the Balkan Wine Festival, organized by Galina Niforou and Konstantinos Lazarakis MW, took place on the 3^rd and 4^th of June.

Wine growers from all Balkan countries were traditionally present at the forum. The award ceremony took place at the gala dinner. The International Jury of BIWC 2017 gave awards in several categories. The Bulgarian “Rumelia” winery grabbed the Grand Trophy of the 6^th edition of the red wine Mavrud reserve 2013. The total number of the awarded gold medals from BIWC 2017 was 40. 10 of these were for Bulgaria, 1 for the Czech Republic, 12 for Greece, 3 for Macedonia, 3 for Montenegro, 3 for Romania, 6 for Serbia and 3 for Turkey.
