Few days before Easter, the country’s grandmasters of embroidery surprised us once again with true colour pageant, created by skilful hands and their checkered marble hall

of the Russian Cultural and Information Centre in Sofia. There, the members of the club "Friends of the tapestry, Bulgarian embroidery and other fine arts" and the Association of Friends of Russia "Alexander Nevski" opened the exhibition "Fantasy of colours" dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the outbreak of the April’s uprising. The guests that came on the 11th of April for the eventpacked the hall and there was a reason for that. In addition to the wonderful embroidered works of the Bulgarian masters, they enjoyed the pleasant and cultural musical program. And with regards to the complexity of reasoning in the displayed works, the beauty of the colours and the amazing ideas of the authors can be said that they cannot be described, but they simply must be seen.

On each day of the exhibition there were surprises for the audience. The authors demonstrated different skills. Magdalina Toneva showed how to do izonit - embroidery on paper, Julia Yaramova presented the Quilling technique, Svetla Bakalova revealed the mysteries of the lace shuttle knitting – frivolite and Vasilena Naydenova - the production of sugar figurines.
