This interesting exhibition in Sofia Art Gallery is about the place of the text in the Bulgarian art after 1856.

Its curators - Plamen B. Petrov and Ramona Dimova, presented an almost unexamined topic in our country, by separating four major t hematic units in it: "Explanatory text", "Genesis and text", "Intention to text" and "Triumph of the text". They offer the systematization of the physical presence of the text in the space of the work of art - not just in the sense of a distinct set of written words and sentences, but also as separate syllables, letters and numbers graphemes.

Over 120 works collected from various galleries and private collections by artists like Nikolay Pavlovich, Stanislav Dospevski, Anton Mitov, Ivan Markvichka, Nikola Petrov, Ivan Milev, Nikolay Raynov, Boris Georgiev, Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, Galin Malakchiev, Georgi Bozhilov - The Elephant, Tekla Aleksieva, Rumen Gasharov, Andrey Daniel, Nedko Solakov, Lachezar Boyadzhiev, Ventsislav Zankov, Nadezhda Oleg Lyahova, Krasimir Krastev - Rasim, Boryana Dragoeva - Rossa, Sasho Stoitsov and others are arranged in the exhibition. The audience can enjoy, while the researchers can trace the relationship between text and image, its manifestation in different historical periods and forms and the whole variety of opportunities that it can give to the Bulgarian artists.

The exhibition can be seen at the gallery until March 27, 2016.
