The born in Armenia and living in Spain world famous pianist made her premiere in Bulgaria.
Her concert Women Voices was held on 24th of March in Studio 1 of the Bulgarian National Radio as part of the 22nd International Piano Music Festival ppPIANISSIMO 2019.
With exquisite artistic sensibility Sofya Melikyan presented the piano works composed by contemporary female composers Raquel Quiaro (Venezuela), Mercedes Zavala (Spain), Hilda Paredes (Mexico /England), Sofia Gubaldulina (Tatarstan/Germany) and Geghuni Chitchyan (Armenia). Following the applauses of the audience she performed brilliantly a piano work of the famous Armenian composer, Arno Babadjanian.
For the concert the pianist received congratulations and beautiful roses from Illya Gramatikov, the artistic director of ppPiannissimo Festival 2019, from Mr. Javier Valdivielso, Director of the Cervantes Insitute in Sofia and from Mrs. Sonia Avakian-Bedrossian, AGBU Sofia Chairperson of Honor.
