On the 17th of May, at the residence of the American ambassador in Bulgaria – H. E. Mr. Eric Seth Rubin, an exhibition was opened with works by the artist Rumen Petkov and the artist-photographer Alexander Ivanov.

Mr. Eric Seth Rubin’s wife - Ms. Nicole Sharon Simmons welcomed the guests with a "Welcome!" in Bulgarian and said that this is the fourth of the series of exhibitions with expressive landscapes. "The purpose of the series of exhibitions is the presentation of images by American artists, together with images of Bulgarian landscapes from the point of view of Bulgarian artists. The current exhibition is called "Bulgaria Chromatic/Achromatic". We present it together with our friends from the International "Art Bansko" Gallery. We present oil paintings by Rumen Petkov and photographs by Alexander Ivanov. Both artists are very famous and are from the town of Roses - Kazanlak".

In their joint exhibition the artists showed some of the fascinating faces of Bulgaria: one through black and white photos, the other through colorful paintings. A very good symbiosis between photography and painting has been achieved. The exhibition shows in an unconventional way - from different angles, perspectives and senses, the beauty of the Bulgarian nature.

Apart from the presented works the guests of the opening enjoyed the piano performances of the son of Alexander Ivanov - Alexander Ivanov Jr.
