The embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium, together with the National Library "St. Cyril and St. Methodius " presented an exhibition dedicated to the independence of the media wich opened on September 7. They called it "Freedom of speech".

13 works of 13 Belgian and 15 Bulgarian cartoonists were gathered there, were lined up in the lobby on the second floor of the library. The opening took place in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium - Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister for European Policies Coordination and Institutional Affairs - Meglena Kuneva, Her Excellency Ms. Annick Van Kalastar, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belgium and the Director of the National Library - prof. Boryana Hristova.

"A picture says more than a thousand words" - stated Belgian Ambassador in Bulgaria. Meglena Kuneva said she wish we could better understand each other by "finding intersections in humor". Didier Reynders even praised the importance of exhibitions on such topics in hard times as we have today.
