An official ceremony on the occasion of the 72^nd anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia took place on the 17^th of August in the Indonesian embassy’s garden in Sofia.

The celebration began with a speech by H. E. Ms. Sri Astari Rasjid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in our country; after that “Pancasila”, the official fundamental philosophical theory of the Indonesian State and the proclamation of the Declaration of the Indonesian Independence from August 17^th, 1945, were read; then followed the solemn rise of the flag of the Republic of Indonesia.

The ceremony was attended by many Indonesian citizens living in Bulgaria and a wide range of their friends. The day was filled with sports games, traditional for Indonesia, awards and lots of smiles.
