The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sofia invited the impressive male choir I Maestri for the already established Korean-Bulgarian friendlship concert; as well as the Bulgarian female vocal formation Bella Voce.
The musical event took place on the 18th of October in the "Bulgaria" hall and the guests were personally welcomed by H. E. Mr. Shin Boonam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea in Bulgaria.
The concert was a huge success. At the end of the show, the audience was on their feet, the Korean choir singers were called for an encore several times.
The I Maestri Choir was created in 2006 and currently consists of 90 professional opera singers. 39 of them participated in the concert in Sofia. All of them - from the first and the second tenor to the bass and baritone, touched the audience with their perfect performances of popular opera arias and some folk songs. Enchantment provoked the complete harmony between the performers. The choir was conducted by maestro Jaemoo Yang, a keen artist and a talented musician. Among the numerous awards he has received are: The President Award, Award for Best Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Academy, Artist of the Year Award, Eric Garcetti's commendation in Los Angeles. The talent of the young pianist Jaeyoung Lee, who repeatedly provoked the applauses of the audience during the concert, was also highlighted.
Currently, I Maestri reap success after success in different countries - USA, Russia, China, Japan... The ensemble is for the first time in Bulgaria - as part of their tour around Europe.
The Bulgarian vocal formation Bella Voce with its performances also contributed to the magnificent festive and friendly atmosphere. The ladies performed selected Bulgarian folk songs and sang a few together with the Korean ensemble.
