"Welcome, we believe that this exhibition will complement your vision of President Ho Chi Minh, the prominent cultural figure of Vietnam's national liberation, and will make the bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria even more stable".
With these words, Her Excellency Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong Oanh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the country, addressed the big audience in the Central Military Club in Sofia on the 30th of October, where more than 200 photos, media publications and other materials were gathered regarding the visit of Ho Chi Minh in Bulgaria 60 years ago.
The mature generation of Bulgarians still remembers his visit to Bulgaria between August 13th and 17th, 1957. Welcomed then, in the spirit of that time - solemnly, brotherly, the Vietnamese guest met not only with the party and state leaders; but also with many regular workers from Sofia, Novi Han, Pazardjik, Plovdiv, Perushtitsa. In the capital he visited the Pioneer Palace and a kindergarden, which later received his name "Ho Chi Minh".
Part of the exhibition is also devoted to the work of Ho Chi Minh as a hero of the national liberation of Vietnam.
Many of the photos and publications were gathered with the help of Bulgarian ministries, agencies, organizations and private individuals. The director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum Wu Wang Ha arrived specifically for the Vietnam exhibition.
The exposition "President Ho Chi Minh - The Founder of the Friendly Relations Between Vietnam and Bulgaria" is organized by the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam together with the Cultural Institute and the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
