At a ceremony held at the Algerian Embassy in Sofia on 1^st August, 2019, H. E. Ms. Latifa Benazza, Ambassador of Algeria and Dean of the Group of Heads of Mission and Honorary Consuls of African Countries resident in Bulgaria,

presented to Mrs. Violeta Yaneva, Director of the Nadezhda Senior Citizens Facility in Petrovo, Blagoevgrad Region, a donation on behalf of the Group. The funds for this donation were collected during the celebration of Africa Day in Sofia on June 29th. The ceremony was attended by ambassadors from the Group – H. E. Mr. Moayad Fathallah Eldalie, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt and H. E. Ms. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco, and Mrs. Albena Jones, President of the International Women's Club - Sofia.

When giving the donation H. E. Ms. Latifa Benazza stated:

As Dean of the African Heads of Mission resident in Bulgaria, I am pleased and honored to host this small ceremony that has gathered us today for a noble cause at the service of society.

Africa and Bulgaria have always been friends and ready to support each other in difficult moments and in the name of just causes.

Our cause today as Africans is to make a humble but most heartfelt contribution to the benefit of the elderly from Nadezhda Senior Citizens Facility by helping it with the purchase of a solar system.

Please let me extend my appreciation and warmest thanks to the Excellencies for participating in this joint effort dedicated to Africa Day and the One Hundred and First Anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s birthday.

I feel confident that united we can achieve a lot in the name of social welfare, friendship and cooperation.

Mrs. Veneta Yaneva, Director of the Senior Citizens Facility in the Village of Petrovo, gave to the Group of Heads of Mission and Honorary Consuls of African Countries resident in Bulgaria a painting and souvenirs as a token of gratitude.
