The official opening of its second edition took place on the 25th of September in the House of Cinema with the screening of the film "The Optimists" (Norway, Sweden) directed by Gunhild Magnor.
The film tells the story of an extraordinary volleyball team from the Norwegian city of Hamar, made up of women aged 66 to 98, who are preparing and playing a match with a similar team, but made up of men in Sweden;a strange and extreme but very optimistic situation.
In fact, "Everything is Possible". This was also the motto of the Scandinavian Cinema Week this year. That's why the eight documentary and feature films shown in it from Finland, Norway, Denmark, Lithuania and Sweden were telling stories about people and events in unusual, special situations and conditions.
During the Week, the audience also had the opportunity to see an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Swedish director Ingmar Bergman, shown in the lobby of the cinema.
The event was organized by the Embassies of Finland, Denmark and Sweden and the Honorary Consulates of Norway and Lithuania in Bulgaria, with the assistance of the House of Cinema.
