To celebrate the beginning of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU, a concert of the Romanian INTERMEZZO Quartet, Diana Ichim and Noémi Karácsoni was held on 16th January in the capital. The event took place in the Central Military Club.
The concert was initiated by H. E. Mr. Ion Gâlea – ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Bulgaria, who held a short speech, in which he emphasised on the occasion of the event and introduced the quartet and the soloists.
Thereafter, all attendees – ambassadors, cultural figures, friends, enjoyed the precise performances of the undergraduates of the Faculty of Music of the Transilvania University of Braşov. Noémi Karácsoni /Canto/ and Diana Ichim /Piano/ performed classical pieces of music by Romanian composers. The INTERMEZZO Quartet /two violins, a viola and a double bass/ played works by authors who were inspired by the Romanian folklore.
The concert ended with pieces by European composers, played on the piano by Diana Ichim.
