Under this slogan, on the 20th September the Late Summer British Lifestyle Party took place in the classy atmosphere of the British Residence in Sofia. Her Majesty's Ambassador to Bulgaria Mrs Emma Hopkins OBE,

 invited businessmen and journalists to learn more about British business. The event was outstandingly organised by the Trade Department of the Embassy which also presented the internet platform - Exporting is GREAT.

What is Exporting is GREAT platform? Every Bulgarian company that wants to find a UK partner can sign up and receive detailed information about the products they're interested in. They cover a wide spectrum of goods - from food&drink, pharma, perfumes, cosmetics and luxury to advanced manufacturing products and technology.

The guests had the opportunity to get to know a number of British brands which were new to the Bulgarian market by then. The interest in cooperation from both sides is high and the Exporting is GREAT platform facilitates the contacts.

And here is what Her Majesty's Ambassador Mrs Emma Hopkins OBE shared on the bilateral trade between UK and Bulgaria:

One of our objectives in hosting this event is to reinforce the fact that post the decision from the UK referendum result to leave the EU, the UK is still very much „open for business“. We want the growing bilateral trade between the UK and Bulgaria to further develop and we want to help UK companies to find local Bulgarian partners.

UK-Bulgaria bilateral trade has doubled in the past 10 years. UK exports to Bulgaria reached nearly half billion EUR in 2015.

The UK is a global leader in some of the world’s fastest-growing and/or innovative sectors. Food and drink is the biggest manufacturing sector in the UK. It is home to Stilton and Cheddar. Beer, cider and the spirits industry have a long heritage.Great Britain is the second biggest manufacturer of luxury goods in Europe.
