The German Embassy in Sofia held a party on the occasion of the Bundestag elections in Germany on the 24th of September, in order to host numerous guests and watch the election results together.

The event gathered everybody who is interested in the country and love it: Bulgarians connected to it, Germans living in Bulgaria, representatives of the media, friends from the politics and culture.

The party was also the occasion of the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Bulgaria - H. E. Mr. Herbert Salber, to meet the Bulgarian journalists and the diaspora. Just days before, on the 12th of September 2017, he handed his credentials to President Rumen Radev.

The beautifully organized event passed in pleasantly and friendly atmosphere. The German televisions ARD/ZDF were broadcasted directly on huge screens. The offered typically German light meals and beverages. There was even a children's play area for the youngest guests. The party gave the opportunity for interesting conversations, exchange of thoughts and new meetings.

A game with forecasts for the election results was organized in advance. The participants had filled in a table with the possible percentages for each party and had sent it by e-mail. The most attractive prize for the winners - those who, in their forecast, have made the closest result to the one of ARD's first preliminary results, was a Lufthansa flight to Germany. And of course, the most emotional moment of the party was the announcement of the preliminary results and the winners'.
