On 3 March Bulgarians celebrated the 139th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria.

A public discussion on this subject took place on January 18th, in Sofia Hotel Balkan. Ten years after the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union and just months before the first Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council,

On December 10 at Renaissance Square in Pleven there was a solemn ceremony marking 139 years since the liberation of the city during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-78.

On 24 and 25 November in Antarctica Hall at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held the International Conference

This happened on the Independence Day in the presence of the Prime Minister of Bulgaria - Boyko Borisov, the Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo - Daniel Panov and the First Lady of Azerbaijan and President of the "Heydar Aliyev" foundation – Mehriban Aliyeva.
