This year, a month before the biggest Christian holiday of Christmas in the city center, at the Battenberg Square, a German Christmas market was opened.
On the 9th of November, the Union of the Bulgarian Journalists held a meeting with H. E. Mr. Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodriguez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in Bulgaria.
On the 21st of October the Serbian-Bulgarian Friendship Association /the city of Novi Sad, Serbia and the city of Sofia, Bulgaria/ presented the almanac "Poetry Competition - Fall 2016" at the Serbian Embassy in Sofia.
On the 8th of December,150 years were marked since the birth of the great Finnish composer Ian Sibelius.
