They were held from 17th to 23rd of October at the House of Cinema in Sofia. On the opening evening the Bulgarian singer, theater and film actor Ruslan Maynov performed famous songs from movies

and the Head of Cinema Department at the Russian Cultural and Information Centre Vladimir Yastreba and CEO of the National Film Centre Kamen Balkanski welcomed the guests. Young stars of the Russian cinema attended, as well as, filmmakers who talked about the preparation and organization of the shootings and the process of creating movies.

Besides Sofia, the Days of the Russian cinema in Bulgaria were held in Lucky - Cinema House, Plovdiv from 19th to 25th of October.

The selection of the event covered films from different genres created between 2014 and 2016. The audience saw the military-historical dramas "Battalion" and "Battle of Sevastopol", the sports films "Playground" and "Champions: faster, higher, stronger", the comedies "Ghost", "Norwegian" and "For Love". All of them showed that Russian cinema is still one of the best in the world and that a new and highly talented young wave of talents is flowing into it.
