From the 25th of September to the 1st of October, the Fourth Festival of Portuguese Cinema was held in the Odeon Cinema, in Sofia. This year's edition featured eight films from the 1940s to the present.
The first featured title was Amalia's musical-biographical film, describing the life of Amalia Rodrigues - the greatest fado singer of all time. There were two biographical films – "Zeus", regarding the seventh Portuguese President Manuel Teixeira Gomes and "Caminois" - about the life and work of the great Portuguese poet Luis de Camoes. The festival also did not lack romance and love. The films "The First Summer", "I was in Lisbon and I remembered you", "Jungle" and "Gray and Black" made the viewers dream, but also think about the turns of life. And the comedy "Bad, Bad, Mary" cheered them up with the efforts of three brothers to find the perfect woman within seven weeks, to marry her in order to get the legacy from their father.
The festival - a real celebration of Portuguese cinema - was realized with the support of the Embassy of the Portuguese Republic in Bulgaria and the Institute of Caminois - Sofia.
