The event took place on the 3^rd of June and gathered ambassadors, diplomats, cultural figures, journalists.

Dedicated to the national hero of Albania – George Castriot Scanderbeg, it was opened by H. E. Ms. Donika Hoxha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Bulgaria, and by Assoc. Prof. Krasimira Alexandrova, the Director of the "St. St. Cyril and St. Methodius" National Library.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Nikolov from the Faculty of History at Sofia University talked about the life of Skanderbeg and Dr. Boyana Mincheva, Head of the Preservation of Handwritten Documentary Heritage at the "St. St. Cyril and St. Methodius" National Library presented the accent of the evening - the exhibition of books and archival materials from its fund about the great Albanian hero. The exhibition includes manuscripts, incunabula and contemporary biographical publications and works of the Bulgarian Renaissance writers and world famous European and American poets and writers that were inspired by Scanderbeg’s personality. The most interesting exhibit was probably the script of the Scanderbeg poem, written in 1860 by the famous Bulgarian Revival, writer and translator – Grigor Parlichev. But the personality of the character is also immortalized in the poems of Lord Byron, Henry Longfellow, Ivan Franko.

The evening ended with an excerpt from the "Scanderbeg" Opera by Antonio Vivaldi.

The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania and the National Library and is dedicated to the 105^th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between our countries and the 26^th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.
