The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in the Republic of Bulgaria, presented the Week of the Venezuelan Culture from the 14th to the 17th of March 2016,in the Russian Cultural and Informational Centre in Sofia.
During the official opening a speech was delivered by Her Excellency Ms. Orieta Caponi, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Bulgaria and Mr. Sergey Smityushenko, principal of the Russian Centre. In the following days, the program, dedicated to the Venezuelan culture, consisted of three cinema screenings of the films "Upside Down", "Dust of Time" and "A Gaze at the Sea". The photographic exhibition "Crafts, Musical Instruments and Landscapes" whelmed us in the spirit of this warm South American country. The colourful and rich spirituality of the smiling people out there, who are a mix of many races, was recreated in beautiful photos, showing the everyday life of the nation. On the closing day Venezuelan folk dances were performed, and guests had the opportunity to taste typical dishes of the national cuisine and the Venezuelan rum.
