H. E. Mrs. Latifa Benazza, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic and People's Republic of Algeria in the Republic of Bulgaria,

dedicated the day of 19 February 2021 to activities with Miss Gabriela Gancheva, one of the 23 winners in this year’s Ambassador for a Day initiative organized by the British Embassy in Sofia under the patronage of Mrs. Iliana Iotova, Vice-President of the Republic of Bulgaria. The purpose of the initiative isto allow young Bulgarian girls to get an idea of future opportunities they can exploit in order to be useful to their country.

This year the AfaD initiative is placedunder the theme: "If you were Ambassador for a day, how would you help Bulgaria recover after the COVID-19 pandemic, and what would be your top three priority areas?"

Ms. Blagovesta Nikolova, CEO of Time Heroes, an NGO involved in volunteering whose mission is to develop the culture of volunteering in Bulgaria, also joined the activities organized by the Embassy.

The Ambassador briefed Miss Gancheva on the Covid-19 situation in Algeria. Discussions continued over a lunch at the Algerian Residence.
