On this occasion, on January 9, at the House of Europe, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in the Republic of Bulgaria and PanEuropa – Bulgaria,
in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute and the European Commission in Bulgaria organized a conference on "The Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the Bulgarian Perspective".
It was opened by Mrs. Gergana Passi, President of PanEuropa Bulgaria. H. E. Mr. Frédéric Meurice, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Bulgaria, presented the priorities of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU over the next six months. He explained what lies behind his motto - "Protect, strengthen, prepare".
The conference was an opportunity to exchange ideas and thoughts on the most important issues on Europe's agenda.
The discussion was followed by a joint performance by the Bulgarian vocal ensemble DAI MONTI VERDI and the Belgian lutenist Jurgen De bruyn.
