The Kingdom of Morocco celebrates on July 30th of each year the Throne Day. This year, it corresponds to the 23rd anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His glorious Ancestors. The celebration of this date, very dear to the hearts of all Moroccans, refers to the renewal of the pact of allegiance and the strengthening of the deep and multisecular ties between the Moroccan people and its sovereigns. This occasion represents a strong moment of communion and embodies the founding spirit of the Moroccan Nation. It symbolizes its unity, its stability, its diversity and its deep values of peace, respect, solidarity and tolerance.

It is also, as His Majesty the King has emphasized on many occasions, an opportunity to reflect on the state of the Nation, to take stock of the political and institutional reforms as planned by the 2011 Constitution as well as the projects carried out or underway in terms of socio-economic development for the benefit of citizens.

This process has led to significant achievements, making Morocco one of the leading countries in its region in terms of stability, democracy, independence of the judiciary, protection of individual rights and freedoms, poverty reduction, the fight against territorial disparities, and renewed territorial governance, the revalorization of the status of women, the influx of investments, mainly through the implementation of incentive sectoral strategies, constantly readapted and articulated around productive sectors of exportable goods and services such as automotive, aeronautics, textiles, pharmaceuticals, renewable energies, food processing, etc. ..

Similarly, Morocco has launched important structuring projects meeting international standards, encouraging the establishment of many Moroccan and foreign investments in the Kingdom.

Massive investments in the development of road, port, air and rail infrastructure have improved Morocco's accessibility and its connection to all international transport routes for goods and people.

Among these large-scale projects, Among these large-scale projects, the high-speed rail line linking Tangier to Casablanca, the motorway network linking the main Moroccan cities, which should reach 3,000 km by 2030, including the Tiznit-Laâyoune-Dakhla expressway megaproject, the Tangier Med port, the largest in Africa, with a capacity of 9 million TEUs, making this platform the largest in the Mediterranean in terms of port capacity, etc.

In this respect, the progress achieved by Morocco in the development and modernization of several areas of political, economic and social character has enabled the country to benefit from a credibility and a "good reputation" with the international community and many International Financial Institutions and donors (World Bank, IMF, European Investment Bank, African Development Bank, etc.).

In terms of foreign policy, Morocco continues to play its role as an active, committed and responsible player on the international, continental and regional scenes. The Kingdom has always demonstrated a continued commitment to multilateralism and South-South cooperation, and has been at the forefront of international efforts to address growing common challenges, including those related to peace and security, migration, the fight against terrorism, and climate change.

This year's celebration of Throne Day also coincides with the celebration, on September 1, 2022, of the 61st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Bulgaria. Thanks to the political courage of our leaders, the wisdom of the men and women of both countries, the unfailing adherence to the principles of equality, mutual respect and reciprocal interest of the successive governments in Morocco and Bulgaria, as well as the pioneering spirit of the Moroccan and Bulgarian peoples, the two countries enjoy very good relations, which are constantly developing in good political understanding and expanding to various sectors of common interest, with the aim of bringing them up to the level of the expectations of the two friendly peoples.
