On the 26th of February, during the two-day official visit of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades to the Republic of Bulgaria,
an exhibition was opened dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. His visit to Bulgaria was at the invitation of the Bulgarian Head of State - Rumen Radev.
The opening of the exhibition took place in the lobby of the "Platinium Business Center", which also houses the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus. The event was honored by almost all ambassadors accredited to Bulgaria, by officials and journalists.
E. Mr. Marios Kountouridis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Bulgaria, noted in his speech the importance of the long-standing relations between the two countries. Among the examples showing the sincere friendship between the two peoples, he emphasized the fact that Bulgaria is among the first countries to recognize the newly established Republic of Cyprus and to open an embassy in Nicosia.
E. Mr. Marios Kountouridis also noted that today the friendly relations between the two countries are an example of contribution to the progress, prosperity and development of an even better Europe.
The exhibition contains photographs revealing moments of the historical events related to the 60-years of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Cyprus: visits and bilateral meetings of heads of state, ministers, ambassadors, officials and others.
