Traditionally, it is celebrated every year on the 5th and 6th of May in the village of Banite, in the Smolyan region, and gathers the inhabitants and guests of the village for a joyful experience.
This was the theme of the lecture of Prof. Federica Olivares, which she delivered on the 25th of April in the "Prof. Marin Drinov" hall at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
On October 28 2018, Prof. Alexander Fedotov died. We lost a great scientist and man: Cosmopolitan, philologist, traveller and friend.
On the 3rd of March 1878 in the village of San Stefano, close to Istanbul, a peace treaty that ended the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and restored the Bulgarian state was signed.
On the 1st of January 2018, the first Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council was Launched.
The Day of the Liberation of Sofia from Ottoman yoke - January the 4th, 1878, was celebrated with a series of solemn events organized by the Sofia Municipality, Sofia Holy Mitropolia, the "Alexander Nevski" Friends’ Association of Russia and the "Heroes of Bulgaria" Foundation.
