Beautiful works of the ceramic artist Atanas Gadjev can be seen from November the 11th to December the 4th in the gallery "Industrial 11".

In a secret speech and one that has already disappeared - the word "meshtra" means artisan.
The exhibition is an intimate tribute of the author towards his ancestors. Starting from the one surrounded with mystery linguistic, cultural and social phenomenon –the meshterian speech, Atanas Gadjev makes his artistic interpretations, provoking the imagination and thoughts of the viewer. Words - symbols: blagach - bread; boranskalazaritsa - a good time to work; brama - evening; Kuta - Easter; meshtra - artisan, are starting points for plastic and artistic searches that reconcile the eternal opposites: secret /evident; visible / invisible; depth /surface; traditional / modern.
At a time when we lie to ourselves that we have unrestricted access to any information, when it is customary to marvel and wonder, increasingly rare, there exist the innermost depths that remain beyond the reach of modern man ... and for which it is worth looking at the past...
"The works of Atanas Gadjev work on me as traces of archeology, the one that has not occurred is a proof that creativity and capacity for spiritual meditations are a bridge to the trans-temporary, trans-spatial and trans-rational realities, for which as a convenience we have given the name of art" - says regarding the artist, the art critic Philip Zidarov.
The exhibition at the city gallery "Industrial 11" for the first time collects in one common space much of the creativity of the author. Within the collection harmoniously coexist graphic reliefs of the series "Kafka Express" and "Layers", two groups of ceramic sculptures: "Stella" and "My Arms", an innovative painting whose basis are boards, combining paper and clay table and two sets of digital and lithographic image thumbnails. Here will be the premiere of his video installation with overlaid drawings on dematerialization of texts that have preserved the unique traces of the meshterian speech.

The meshterian speech belongs to a group of professional secret languages of the Rhodope region, but has its differences and peculiarities specific to the region of Leshten. Shrouded in mystery (as is its nature) the talk gets out of use officially in the mid-20th century and today the memory of it is in risk for becoming frozen forever. Among the few researchers of the meshterian is the mother of the painter – Zorka Gadjeva born in the same village (1935 - 2011), whose studies from the late 60s of the 20th century contain interviews with the last living authentic informants and are a kind of "leader" in this project.
