The Embassy of Palestine in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Society for Friendship and Cooperation Bulgaria - Palestine organized the celebration of the 68th anniversary of the Palestinian An-Nakba.
This happened on the 26th of May in Hall 6 of the National Palace of Culture, where H.E. Dr. Ahmed al Madbuh - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine in Bulgaria, presented the book "Loneliness Called Fatherland".
The date of the 15th of May, 1948 is known in history as the Palestinian Al-Nakba - catastrophe. The Palestinians’ country was divided, hundreds of thousands of them were forced to leave their homeland. But this is also the year in which is considered the beginning of the modern Palestinian literature. So, it is not coincidental that the celebration of the 68th anniversary of the big crash was marked with the presentation of the book.
In the book "Loneliness Called Fatherland" are collected poems of 40 Palestinian poetesses - 40 female voices in the Palestinian literature. This "feminine" Palestinian anthology is published for the first time in our country. The selection of works is made by the well known arabologist Maya Tsenova and Nabil Abumhadi, the translation is by Maya Tsenova and the layout of the beautiful cover - by Hanadi Bader.
