On the 19th of September, H. E. Mr. Manuel Korček, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Bulgaria, and his wife, Mrs. Monika Korčeková,

gave a reception at the embassy on the occasion of the national holiday of the country. On the 1st of September 1992, the Slovak Republic adopted its constitution, and with the partition of Czechoslovakia in January 1993 the new state of Slovakia was declared. The reception was honored by officials, ambassadors, diplomats, businessmen, journalists, Slovaks living in Bulgaria, friends of Slovakia.

In his greeting speech to the guests H. E. Mr. Manuel Korček pointed out: "Today we celebrate the national day, the Constitution day. The constitution that gave us the foundation for free democratic Slovakia which later joined the EU, NATO and became a part of the free world; it gave us the framework for better life,r espect for human rights, freedom, tolerance."

The Ambassador thanked the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev and the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov for the congratulations they have sent. He stressed: "I am happy that the relations between Slovakia and Bulgaria are developing well. The strong historical moment we cherish is growing stronger every day, even without the influence of officials, because the real strength of our relationship is measured by the intensive and huge number of people-to-people activities…"

Then, in the extremely friendly atmosphere in the hall and the garden of the Slovak Embassy, ​​all guests enjoyed lively conversations, as well as the performances of the musicians of the Lilly of the West – Lili Drumeva (vocals) and Yasen Vasilev (guitar). They also tried the wonderful specialties of the Slovak national cuisine, as well as the country’s unique wines and beers.
