On 12 September, on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the country's national holiday,
the Day of the Founding of the Confederation on 1 August 1291, H. E. Mr. Raymund Furrer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Bulgaria, and his wife, Mrs. Claude Furrer-Choueiri, gave a reception at the Lozenets Residence. He was personally honoured by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria - Academician Nikolay Denkov, as well as ministers, deputies, ambassadors, diplomats, friends of Switzerland.
The founding day of the Confederation, 1 August 1291, is the day on which the three cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden entered into a historic alliance, with their people swearing eternal allegiance and pledging mutual aid and assistance in times of need.
The Swiss Federal Constitution, adopted on 12 September 1848, was the event that laid the foundations of the modern Swiss federal state. This was underlined in the welcoming speech by H. E. Mr. Raymund Furrer, also shared his joy at the excellent relations between Switzerland and Bulgaria.
And after the official part, the guests enjoyed both the wonderful Swiss chocolate products and the raclette cheese.
